About the Collection
The selected papers in this collection were written by the earliest students of the School of Fire, 1915-1937, with the exception of fourteen papers written in the 1970s. The papers represent the intellectual ability of the students, their depth of knowledge of artillery and the effective mentoring of the School’s staff and faculty. The student papers are divided into two broad categories, Battle Analysis and Fire Support/Field Artillery TTPs.
Also included in this collection are photographs of students, staff and faculty across the years, the early yearbooks of the School of Fire graduating classes, and FA branch officer information booklets from the 1960s-1980s. These information booklets, with various titles, reveal the evolution of artillery weapons and support systems and have the added bonus of Fort Sill photographs.
The Student Papers represent the opinions of the students who researched and wrote them and do not represent any official opinion of the Field Artillery School.
